2020 DONCASTER CLASSIC.

Twenty rinks were filled for the annual Doncaster Classic Day. This year  it was sponsored  by the McKenzie Aged Care Group who have two residences in Templestowe.

There were 160 players participating from  27 different Melbourne clubs. It was a Fours day, with four games each of 10 ends. Every team played two games each on the front and the  back green.

The 24 raffle prizes were won and distributed at lunch time, which left just the main winners to be announced during nibbles and drinks at the end of the day.

Kacee Jarvis who represented McKenzie’s presented the winners with the prize money. First was a team from Doncaster with a skip from Bentleigh, they achieved four wins out of four games.

Second and third both with three wins and a draw were teams from Doncaster and Mentone.

There were also prizes for best first, second, third and fourth game.

This day does not occur without so much preparation over several months and the driving force is Richard Lovell.

Yes there are Committee members with their various duties before and on the day, plus a group of Women in the kitchen and bar. But the amount of time and effort Richard puts in is amazing. Thank you to all concerned, there were at least 20 people behind the scene , many of whom are not in this photo.

Our Sponsors also gave everyone a bag of goodies to take home, containing a collapsible walking stick, a back scratcher, a pen, a magnifying glass, a lens wiper and information on their residences.

Thank you also to Tia Jayde photography. Tia came with her very serious camera, stayed all day, and took many photos some of which I have transferred from her Facebook site. If you want to see some more please follow this link and/or look at the slide show below.
