SOCIAL NIGHTS AND DAYS

This week we have had three social events in between Pennant, Tournaments and training. Monday was the movie day, then Wednesday was the special evening meal with many sponsors attending,  including the Bendigo Bank  and Angoves with their free wine tasting, and lastly Thursday was ‘Posties’ fashion day.

The movie day was in the previous article, so here’s what happened for the rest of the week.

There is always a good number of members and friends who come for the Angoves night, and so it was again. We tasted and ordered. Darius Cheeseman had a special offer of a free wine carafe if the order was six bottles or more for the lovely Coonawarra red.

Paul Thompson from the Bendigo  Bank spoke and explained that over 16 years this Bank has injected $4.000.000 into the Manningham community, of which Doncaster Bowls Club has received just under $47.000.

Hannah who helps in the kitchen just on Wednesday nights was introduced to everyone.

There were prizes donated from Angoves and two more lucky people won with Irene’s bingo game.

On Thursday morning 20 ladies came for the Posties fashion showing. Kay Golding has stepped into Lorraine Bradshaw’s shoes by introducing Julie.

Julie ( the lady from Posties) demonstrated how the clothes could be mixed and matched. Many ladies bought, and $160 was made for the club.

So ended this weeks fundraisers and social activities. Many thanks to those that attended and especially to those that organised these days and nights.
