πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰ BETTE FORDHAM IS 88 πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚

One of Doncaster’s Life Members has turned 88. Bette Fordham’s Β son brought her to the club on Saturday Β for a small happy celebration.

The members who were playing Indoor Bowls sang Happy Birthday and Bette blew out the candle on her little cake. Bette stayed on to watch the Indoor players and to catch up with the ladies with whom she used to play Pennant and social bowls.

Doncaster Bowls Club was a large part of her life for many years.
She joined in 1985 and became involved in Committees almost straight away. She was the Assistant Secretary and the Secretary of the Management Committee from 1987/ 2007. She also was on several other Committees over the years as well as working Β on the bar for 16 years. Β She was an umpire too. Β She received a Certificate of Appreciation in 2001 and became a Life Member in 2008. In her spare time she was Β an accomplished bowler having played in two Ladies Sectional Winning teams and the Mixed Pairs with Harry Reynolds.

She is now a widow, so it was thoughtful of her son to bring her and for the members to share some memories.

Happy Birthday Bette.πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚
