Our bowls program provides bowling opportunities for everyone. Our bowls program provides competitive as well as social games through out the year.

HOW TO DO TOURNAMENT & CHAMPIONSHIP DRAWS
TOURNAMENTS
The Club runs several regular monthly bowls tournaments from September to April each year. These sponsored open events include the
- First Monday Triples
- Second Monday Triples
- Second Wednesday Triples
- Fourth Monday Triples and
- Fourth Wednesday Pairs event, and
- there is a 7 week night tournament that is run in March and April each year.
Bowlers from any club may enter teams for these events by contacting the manager for the respective event. Please note that our two Wednesday events in particular are very popular and there is very limited availability. Bowlers participating in any of these events are strongly advised to arrive at the club at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement times. Our Monday and Wednesday bowls events is managed by the Tournament Committee. Contact the relevant tournament manager for any information.
First Monday Triples
The First Monday Triples is a two bowl triples event consisting of two games of 15 ends commencing at 12:30pm. Put your name down on the list at the Club House.

Second Monday Triples
The Second Monday Triples is a two bowl triples event consisting of a game of 13 ends and another of 15ends commencing at 12:30pm.

Second Wednesday Triples
This event consist of three games of 13 ends.This two bowl triples event commences at 10:30am with a lunch break midway through the second game.
This popular event is managed by Robert Bateup and he can be contacted on 98484524 or 0419 439 706.
Fourth Monday Triples
This two bowl triples event commences at 12:30pm and consists of a game of 13 ends and another of 14 ends.
This event is managed by Dinesh Balgovind who can be contacted on 041 000 9580
Fourth Wednesday Pairs
This is a four bowl pairs event and takes the 2-2-2-2 format and consists of two games commencing at 10:30am. There is a lunch break after the first game and winners play winners in the second game.
Held on the fourth Wednesday of each month this very popular event is managed by Nicole Carriero. Nicole can be contacted on 0431 887 067.
Night Tournament
The THURSDAY night tournament will commence on February 25th 2021 for 6 weeks. It is a nominated 3-3-2 bowls triples event with 16 ends being played with one power play end. Contact Tak Shum for details.

The Doncaster Classic
The Doncaster Classic is the club’s marquee event for the year. It will be held on Sunday 21 February 2021. This is an open fours event and offers very good prize money. Contact Robert Bateup on 0419 439 706 for more details. Only a limited number of entries can be accepted for this event.
SOCIAL BOWLS PROGRAM
The Social Bowls program is run on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer season.
Wednesday Social Bowls
This event is run each Wednesday during summer bowling season with bowls being played at Doncaster and at a number of other clubs in our region. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for new bowlers to get acquainted with other bowlers and to learn about the game in a friendly and convivial environment. It is also provides an opportunity for those bowlers who no longer wish to participate in the more competitive lawn bowls environment. The dress code for this event is CASUAL (MUFTI) and the start time is 12:30pm and finishing around 3:30pm.

Saturday Social Bowls
The Saturday Open Social Bowls program is run at club during the summer bowling season. This event is ideal for those who no longer wish to play Saturday pennant and also for those who are relatively new to the game of lawn bowls. The Saturday Social Bowls program is managed by Phil Rock.

WINTER BOWLS
In the winter months, outdoor bowls events are played on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons commencing at 12:30pm. It is usually a nominated two bowl triples event and is open to all bowlers. Good prize money and jackpots are available for this event. Contact: Phil Rock, Peter Demeris or Ash Rowe.
INDOOR BIASED BOWLS (IBB)
Doncaster is one of the seven clubs in the Eastern Suburbs Group who offer bowlers the opportunity to play IBB during the winter months (late April to late August). There are three events:
Saturday Open Social Bowls: commences 12.30pm at the Club
Pennant – Tuesday night: commences 7.15pm
Pennant – Wednesday: commences 12.45pm

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Bowls Committee is responsible for the administration of the various Club Championships. For season 2020/21 Lyn Goodman, Ash Rowe and Gerda Van der Peet represent the Championship Committee.
The following club championship events will be run this season. Bowlers are strongly urged to participate in these events.

Neat casual attire is acceptable for club championship events. HOWEVER, CLUB UNIFORM must be worn by all players and markers for all club finals.
If a player is more than 30 minutes late for a game then the outcome will be a forfeit. Deadlines must be strictly adhered to.
Here are the RULES for the club championships:
PENNANT
The Pennant season (where our members compete against other clubs) runs from early October until March when the finals are held. The Pennant competition is run by Bowls Victoria and clubs need to adhere to strict guidelines when participating in this competition. Dress code for all Pennant games is full club uniform.
Saturday Pennant
The Club has five sixteen-a-side teams in the Saturday Pennant competition. The Saturday Pennant competition is an open event and bowlers of a range of ability can participate in this competition. In season 2020/21 DBC has teams in Divisions 3, 5 and 6.
Mid Week Pennant
The Club has four 12-1-side teams entered in the mid week competition. Competition is held on Tuesday mornings commencing late in September each year, with the finals scheduled early in March. This year Doncaster has teams in Divisions 1,3,4 & 5 in the midweek competition.
