CHARITY DAY FOR A GOOD CAUSE.

On Saturday April 22nd the Club Rooms and the front green were used from 1 pm till 6 pm by a special group of people. They had gathered to help two young boys aged 14 and 17 who tragically had lost both parents in recent years. The organisers were friends of the boy’s Mother.

It was a very successful day because exceeding all expectations the  charity afternoon raised $20,000.

The organisers provided their own catering with a BBQ outside and a grazing table inside. They also provided their own MC.

During the day the 180 people participated in raffles and fund raising auctions.

Of course there was try bowls and coaching  on the green. This activity was headed by Peter Hanson with helpers John Nelson, John Thorburn, Ian Hampson, Matt Cursio, Peter Caldwell, John Coles, Ray Rattray-Wood and Ash Rowe. At one stage the players ranged from 4 to 70 years.

There was also a bowling competition and these boys were the winners.
