CHRISTMAS IN JULY LUNCHEON

Well done to the Social Committee who worked so hard to provide a welcome mid year Xmas luncheon for 39 members, partners and visitors on a windy cold July afternoon.

Included with the three course meal,( all cooked by the Ladies) were bottles of red or white wine, juice, cordial and chocolates.( chocolates provided by Tim.)

As a break between courses there were the obligatory games, a quiz and lucky prizes.

Lyn Young won the lucky door prize which was donated by Applewood Retirement Village.

Guess the number of chocolates on the Xmas tree was won by Marie Virgona who was a visitor from Templestowe Bowling Club.

Laurie Hogan won second prize in the raffle. A bottle of grog.

The 20 question quiz was won by this clever group. They each received a Xmas decoration for 18 out of 20 correct answers.

Phil Rock and Diane Coles won the two bingo games. Those prizes were jars of Irene’s famous tomato relish.

With many members away, escaping the cold to the northern climes, the numbers were down, but for those who braved the bitter weather it was a chance to enjoy a pleasant afternoon catching up with friends.

Thanks to Fran Broadfoot and her Committee for a delicious meal and a well organised social afternoon.
