DONCASTER CRICKET CLUB ENJOYS A FAMILY DAY

On Sunday September 8th despite the typical bracing spring weather 40 + people from the Doncaster Cricket Club enjoyed a family day of barefoot bowls, a BBQ lunch and drinks afterwards.

The Cricket Club’s home ground is at the Leeds St oval. Peter Hanson’s son Grant is the coach of the four teams who belong to the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association with the Club’s top team in Division 2.

Peter said the highlight of the day was the fact that membership forms were given out to three 15 year old boys who had been to our Club previously with the Doncaster Secondary College sports programme.

A big thank you to Peter Caldwell, John Nelson, Peter Hanson, Lou Anastassiou, and Ray Rattray Wood who are so reliable when it comes to helping outside on days like this, and to Geoff Bandy who is just the same inside at the bar.
