DUKE OF EDINBURGH SHIELD AT BARHAM, N.S.W.
16 Bowlers and 10 of their partners travelled to Barham on the Murray River in New South Wales last weekend on April 12-13. The weather was beautiful, suitable for bowling, with some cloud throughout the day. Saturday comprised 3 games of 12 ends, with Sunday 2 games of 12 ends. Doncaster managed to win 3 out of 5 games and was very competitive in the other games.
We all enjoyed ourselves with an evening meal on Friday at the local RSL which was opposite our Motel. Barham Bowling Club supplied lunch comprising of chicken and beef roast. On Saturday night we all gathered next to the swimming pool at the motel for a barbecue of sausages, rissoles and salad and had an enjoyable evening. It was a credit to Darryl Bishop and Ken Morris for organising the programme and accommodation for such a large group. Looking forward to next year’s Duke of Edinburgh Shield….Bob.
