FINALS WEEKEND TWO.

THE SATURDAY GAME AND RESULTS.

The Doncaster 2nds played in their Section Grandfinal against Heathmont 4 at the Boronia Bowls Club.

The atmosphere was upbeat to start with but unfortunately they lost 65 points to 78.

Thanks to the Doncaster spectators who came to watch. There were several more down the other end of the green but no photos were taken of these people.

Meanwhile at Donvale Bowls Club Doncaster 4ths. were playing Donvale 6 in the Sectional Semi-Final. They were not successful either. Tomorrow they have a second chance, playing at home against Healesville 2 in the Preliminary Final. The Doncaster thirds will also be at home playing against Camberwell Central 2. Roll up is at 12.30pm.

SUNDAY’S RESULTS.

What a nail biting game it turned out to be for the Doncaster 3 against Camberwell Central 2. The decider was the last bowl of the match.. Scores were even on 72/ 72 with just the Camberwell skips bowl to be played.. The thirds both looked hard at the head because it was a measure. Discussions were had….to bowl or not to bowl . The Camberwell skip bowled but it went wide. Then the thirds tape measured. Oh! just a fraction gave it to Camberwell. Camberwell cheered, their spectators raised both arms and Doncaster had lost by one.

Doncaster 4 lost to Healesville 2. Only by 5 points, 57 / 62. One rink had a brand new skip plus some very new players.

Great experience for a finals game. So well done. That is the end of our Pennant games for season 2024-25.
