FIVE DONCASTER PLAYERS ARE ENJOYING THE 57th SUNSHINE COAST CARNIVAL.
This is the third year some of our members have escaped to the warmth on the Sunshine Coast. Dinesh Balgovind, Bob Urquhart, Peter and Lyn Goodman and Richard Lovell have all been playing in different combinations and various games at many clubs up and down the coast and hinterland.
Some days it is an all day game from 8.45am till 4pm and on others just in the afternoon.
One long day Richard and Dinesh won the best 2nd. game with 9 out of 12 ends with a margin of 19 shots up at the Caloundra Men’s Pairs.
WINNERS ARE GRINNERS
Another day Lyn starred in the sports segment on the 6pm Channel 7 news and she forgot to watch it!!!
LYN’S FIVE SECONDS OF FAME
In between times we have dined together both at RSL’s and cooked delicious meals at home. Richard’s wife Heather, who also came, can cook a great home made lasagne..thanks Heather.
FISH AND CHIPS AT THE GOODMAN’S
On our bowls free days we have played tourist at the shops and cafes and in the cars sightseeing.
We have visited old friends and rellies and have been swimming once the weather improved.
FOUR BEACH BABES?
There are many bowlers here from all over Australia, and also a big contingent from New Zealand. As well as being good bowlers the Maori singing is wonderful.
So far our best effort has been lying second after three games on the Mixed Fours day. Sadly we lost the last game and dropped back to ninth.
Watch for more news and photos…..probably lots…as the carnival continues…….Lyn.
Ok, here’s some of the fabulous colourful and often quite appropriate team members Tshirts.
