FUN AND FOOD ON APRIL FOOLS DAY.

The Social Committee combined April Fools Day, the Melbourne Grand Prix,  Easter and an easy BBQ meal for a Saturday afternoon of fun, games and quizzes.

Starting the proceedings was the “draw to the spider or the cat” competition.

Here are the winners with their Easter  eggs.

Gerda had organised a “ pick-a- bat” triples game with a twist which the players enjoyed.

The weather stayed fine, the game ended by 4.30pm allowing everyone to come  inside for drinks and to await the fanning of the cards for the lucky skip, lead and second.

Here are these winners with their packet of eggs plus a Bunnings voucher.

Much awaited  was the drawing of the three Easter egg raffles plus a “guess the number of eggs” in a container  competition.

Here again are those happy winners.

There were also  quiz questions on the Grand Prix and on the origins and activities of April Fools Day.

Just before the evening meal there  was a “hand ball the Easter egg into  the rabbit hole.”  ( really a foil covered footy)

And lastly, the evening meal of a tasty BBQ hamburger, with sausages and coleslaw in a bun with an ice cream to finish.

Thanks to Fran Broadfoot and her Social Committee ladies for all the organising, and to Brian Garrett and Elaine for the cooking. Fran estimates that this happy afternoon’s activities raised $660 which her Committee hopes will go towards a new kitchen oven which is sorely needed.

Thanks goes to John Thorburn and Beth Reid because nearly all the photos and information are from these two people.
