HIGH TEA AND A VINTAGE FASHION PARADE.

The Menzies Liberal Women’s group again hired the clubrooms, this time to hold their high-tea and vintage fashion parade.

Seventy Ladies attended along with a couple on men, one of whom, Keith Wolahan, is the Federal Member for Menzies

Peter Horton welcomed everyone to the morning, adding an invitation to return for the “ Try Bowls Day” on Sunday October 6th and again on Friday November 15th for “ This Girl Can.”

The parade of the vintage outfits ranging from 1886 through to the 1980’s was loudly applauded. Many were couture clothes which were designed and made overseas.

At the conclusion of the parade several candidates standing for the local Council elections spoke about their plans and aspirations if they were elected.

The French themed high tea was thoroughly enjoyed, the Ladies were reluctant to leave, but all good things must come to an end.

Thanks to Peter Horton and Ray Rattray-Wood for the setting up for the day and to Elaine Kleinert and myself for being in the kitchen all morning.
