MENTORED BY THE BEST

As winners of the Eastern Regional Lawn Bowls Championship played at Ringwood B.C., the Doncaster Secondary College Senior Boys Lawn Bowls Team went on the compete at the STATE FINALS which was played at Sunbury Bowls Club on Thursday May 5th.

Well it was quite the nail-biter. In the round robin two bowl triples  event,  the team lost the first game by one point but then went on to win the next two games thus  putting them into the semi-final. They played against teams as far away as Kyabram and Camperdown. They were holding three on the very last end but then the last bowl  rolled gave the opposition  the lead.

The boys came home strong only narrowly missing out on first place.

So RUNNERS UP they are!

These boys are in year 10, the teams they have been playing against in the Regional Competition are mostly in year 12.

This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the superb coaching and mentorship provided by our community partners Doncaster Bowling Club led by Peter Hanson the star mentor.
