SIX SAUSAGE SIZZLES IN 2024
During the year 2024 Bunnings granted Doncaster Bowls Club six Sundays to hold the very popular sausage sizzles.
So, every two months, both Henry Goralski and Trevor Dawson organised and prepared the designated area for almost eight hours of selling 400 sausages plus drinks.
November 10th was the final fund raiser for this year. A record 500 sausages were sold.
At 8.30 am, which is the start of the first shift, the workers were treated to an egg and bacon roll donated and cooked by Tex Kelly. What a way to begin the day and a great surprise for the volunteers. Thanks Tex.
Usually it is quiet for the first half hour, but not this time. Many buyers ( tradies ) were eating sausages and onions for breakfast.
Over the year a special thankyou goes to Henry and Trevor for all the time they have spent behind the scenes organising each Sunday, and then being the mainstay as well. Also to all those members who helped doing the buying, chopping onions, cooking , serving, cashiering, and stock controlling throughout the year, some volunteering multiple times.
