SPONSORS EVENING IN NOVEMBER

To attend and share in this November Wednesday evening meal Peter Horton had invited three different sponsors.

First was Darius Cheeseman from Angoves Wines. He is always popular because of his free wine tasting. This time he was offering two new varieties. Orders were taken and these will be able to be collected in a week or two. Angoves also donated a beautifully packed box of their products to be won during the Christmas Spectacular fun night.

Peter Horton, our own ‘ golden tonsils’ and very very capable MC, then introduced Mellisa Sloan and Suzy O’Rourke from Madison Sloan Lawyers in Park Orchards and next Natalie Daw and Dimity Course from Hello World Travel in Camberwell.

Mellisa and Natalie were both presented with Certificates of Appreciation by Ash Rowe

Mellisa spoke of the work her firm can do to help with wills and maybe to thoughtfully include estate planning in these times of high housing costs.

Natalie told us of how her company survived through the pandemic, but now, how travel has picked up again especially with river cruising overseas and also cruising holidays within and around Australia.

The Tobin Brothers lucky membership draw was won by Geoff Allen. Geoff won $100 because it was a roll over from last month.

New members Jan Winzler and Charlie Angilletta each won $40 meal vouchers from the Doncaster Hotel plus a bottle of wine from our cool room.

Several members of the Doncaster RSL attended the evening, Dennis Clarke who is their President won the terrific meat tray which was donated by Mauro Bros. butcher in Tunstall Square.

Peter Horton concluded the night by thanking all those who had helped, the Ladies in the Social Committee who prepared the room, Kay and Ian Golding for taking our money at the door, Sandra Dyer and Marion Beckett for selling us hopeful winning tickets, Geoff Bandy the barman, and thanks also goes to John Thorburn for all of the photos below.
