STOP AND START PLAY IN THE SUMMER STORM – Doncaster Bowling Club

Saturday 13th Jan 2018

But, dark clouds gathered by start of pennant play, a smattering of rain began, we still played on. Then it became heavier….we sheltered…..it stopped….we played again….and then it poured.

So we had a longer afternoon tea. The rinks drained well….we played on. Two enormous thunder claps heralded the rain again, this time in buckets. It blew across the greens in waves.

The bowls were left abandoned, huddled  players sheltered watching the rinks form into lakes.

It was over for the day….Lyn.
