THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS TRY THEIR HAND AT BOWLING – Doncaster Bowling Club

Friday 23 February

Several of our members came as tutors, and there was one visitor who plays for Blackburn BC.

At first there were bowls scattered everywhere, but they soon got the hang of it.

After 90 minutes of fun it was time for the meal inside.

Outside exercise makes you hungry and many young ones returned for seconds.

Bishop John Thatcher commented about how the grass could be so closely cut so as to provide a great surface for bowling without killing it. The two American missionaries were impressed by the whole concept of the game. I think they intend to write in either or both the Victorian Church news letter or their world wide Church newsletter. They were invited to return and take photos during a pennant game.

David has had positive feedback from those who attended, all say that it was a superb experience.

Thanks to John Nelson for organising Fran, Neil, Dinesh and Bernie and himself as the outside helpers, ( I think I am missing one), and thanks to Brian and Peter who were the BBQ men, and to Nikki, Irene, Elsa and myself as the kitchen ladies…… great team work all !!……Lyn.
