The clubroom is for hire.
The Menzies Liberal Women Group again hired the clubrooms for a function. This time it was a “ Christmas in July “ luncheon. Over 90 ladies and men attended.
It was very well organised by Helen Jurcevic.
Carols were sung.
Santa appeared with his helpers and gifts were given out.
Lunch was a two course catered meal.
A raffle was drawn and won.
Plus there was a special display of French perfumery which could be purchased.
There were several special guests including Deirdre Diamente and Carli Lange ( both from the Manningham Council), Moira Deeming, Richard Welsh, then Matthew Guy, and also Ellen Verrier ( who is 100 years old and therefore lived through the Menzies years).
Peter Horton spoke about the club’s activities including an invitation for all to try their hand at barefoot bowls…none took up that offer on a wet soggy afternoon! He thanked Matthew Guy for his ongoing support, and lastly hoped that they had enjoyed the day and were welcome to return, which they will at the end of September.
The helpers tidied the room. So thankyou to Elaine Kleinert, Peter Caldwell, Peter Horton, Geoff Bandy and Lyn Goodman who were there all day. Also to Ash Rowe and Matt Cursio who helped with the heavy lifting.
Lyn.
