WOMEN FOOTBALLERS TRY THEIR HAND AT BOWLS.

Xmas parties are always welcome at Doncaster Bowls Club and so it was a BBQ and bowls evening for the Women AFL Footballers team who play out of the Leeds St oval.

John Thorburn writes,

” From 6pm till 8.45pm on Monday December 9th a large group of women from the Womens Football Club in Leeds St. came to have an end of year bowl, BBQ and drinks at Doncaster. The numbers rose steadily to a peak of 35. They all had fun and by evenings end many showed potential. They were a nice group some even helping to put the bowls away.

Peter Hanson was the organiser as well as a coach and bartender. Lou Anastassiou, John Nelson and John Thorburn were kept busy as coaches too, Matt Cursio was an extra barman.”

Monday night is practice time for the Chinese Band. This evening they were playing 70’s and 80’s music.
