A VICTORIOUS FINISH TO THE JUGGERNAUT THAT ROLLED ON AND ON AND ON AND ON. – Doncaster Bowling Club

Saturday March 25th, 2017.

We knew they could do it! What a marvellous finish to a fantastic finals run. Doncaster 4 were victorious to a determined Rosanna 3 in the Metropolitan Grand Final at Lalor today. The final score being 74 Doncaster, 59 Rosanna. Oh yes, happy days ARE really here again.

The best out of 80 Metropolitan Division 6 teams, that’s our Doncaster fourth side. It was a hard battle and for much of the day the score sea-sawed up and down. At the afternoon tea break Doncaster was behind, then into the second half they were equal, and they suddenly pulled ahead and never looked back.

Congratulations to the teams of Kathy Rehe, Bev Allibon, Brian Garrett and skip Irene Garrett. Nicole Carriero, Lorraine McLean, Bob Urquhart and skip Roger Wright. Marion Beckett, Geoff Bandy, Mike Syme and skip Pamela McLean. And Peter Hanson, John Thorburn, Robert Bateup and skip Garry Beckett. Along with emergency Ash Rowe  and manager Keith Kilner.

At least 50 DBC members and friends came to cheer and support, what a great day, what an atmosphere…Lyn.
