ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL ANGOVES WINE TASTING – Doncaster Bowling Club

At least 110 people turned up. Drinkers, sippers and orderers. Angoves have a good variety, reds, whites and sparkling. Darius Cheeseman and his nephew Joshua kept us supplied until was 6.30 and meals were served.

It was good to see different and new helpers in the kitchen and the bar. We are so grateful for our volunteers who jump in at a moments notice.

Irene and Lyn also tried a new but old fashioned jelly salad. I hope it was liked.

There were guests from the East Doncaster and Templestowe Village Community Bank branches of the Bendigo Bank on the main table. Their representative Paul Thompson, who is the Doncaster East Senior Manager, explained that $45,000 had been given to the club in sponsorship in the 13 years since they had been associated with us. He also said that they would update the bill board near the front fence and put Bendigo Bank advertising on the rink scoreboards.

Then the lucky member number was drawn. She was not there, so she was not so lucky was she?, because you have to be present to collect the winnings. But Gerda won a chook again. Is that the third time this season Gerda?…….Lyn.
