AUSTRALIA DAY ACTIVITIES.

A special event was held at the Club on Australia Day. It was organised by Matt’s daughter-in-law Kylie Cursio to celebrate how lucky we are to live in this wonderful land. As our anthem says, “ We are ONE but we are many.”
Seventy four of her friends and colleagues arrived at 11am to play barefoot bowls, and to enjoy a BBQ and salad lunch, plus being entertained with face painting both for the children and adults, also they listened to Aussie music. They enjoyed the bowls so much that they had two sessions and stayed till 7pm.

Kylie wrote and said, “ It was a great day and by all reports enjoyed by many. We greatly appreciated the support of the DBC and its members making the day run so smoothly and for providing such an awesome venue.”

Many thanks to Matt Cursio, also to Geoff Bandy and Laurie Hogan on the bar, and to Peter Hanson, Ash Rowe, Trevor Dawson, John Coles and John Nelson who all helped outside.

Some members also ventured over to Templestowe Bowls Club to play in an annual Australia Day competition.
