Over the last two months Doncaster’s Club rooms have been used for different functions.

Usually this happens only during the Christmas period.

We have had young and old celebratory occasions.

The latest birthday party was for Maya, she was just four years old. Her Mum and Dad invited over 40 guests. The children played old fashioned party games like ‘pass the parcel’, there were songs and dancing and face painting.

John Thornburn said that the adults enjoyed learning how to bowl. Several of the families were locals and they took home membership forms.

Outside caterers came in and Indian food was served.

A special thanks to Elizabeth, Gerda, John Young, Ash Rowe, and the three Peters …C,G and H,  who moved all the mats and furniture on Friday afternoon in readiness.

Then a special, special thanks to Margie Parker, Geoff Bandy, Peter Hanson, Lou Anastassiou, John Nelson and John Thorburn (who also doubled as the trusty photographer.) These people spent six hours at the club overseeing the party.

Profits from these events help our club as many of our social activities are costly and/or are subsidised.
