THIS IS THE WEEK THAT WAS
Slowly, ever so slowly restrictions are loosening so I hope you have been able to get out with friends or family. Some days the weather has been just perfect.
Club happenings this week:
On Monday Graham Ferres hosted his zoom session for the Saturday Pennant 3rds and 4ths. Whilst seven players logged on there were a few apologies. Discussions centred around happily getting out and about for picnics and walks, and that the just published Bowls Victoria’s statement said that we could be having practice sessions soon.
On Wednesday Bob Graham was able to publicly announce that the Doncaster East and Templestowe Village branches of the Bendigo Bank had approved a grant of $12,500 +GST, which will allow the purchase and installation of new front green scoreboards, new rink markers and an external speaker system. Wonderful news….bring on the rock’n’ roll music.🎶🎶💃🕺🏻🎶🎶
The October edition of “Manningham Matters” arrived in our letter box. It included the promised review on “Bowling with Babies.” Unfortunately and disappointingly the photos and words had been edited severely, to that which I had submitted, but at least we received some publicity. It is on page 7.
Lastly, Friday 5pm it was time for Pete’s weekly zoom get together. So many members were eager to hear Tak’s patient explanation of the “Return to Play Guidelines.” The questions and answers went on for 55 minutes. The Manningham Council and Bowls Victoria seemed to have a different set of rules. Now it has been all cleared up, and from Saturday ( today) 1pm you may book two players per rink for a one hour time slot between 9am and 5pm. Please refer to this mornings email from Bob Graham for the rules and conditions.
So endeth the week that was, happy practicing all…..Lyn.
