On Tuesday March 8 Side 2 (Women’s Only) met the underfeated Edithvale team and put up a great fight before both the heat and the quality opposition got the better of them. Still they pushed a great side to the limit, winning one rink and dropping the other two in a very honourable defeat.

On the same day, our number one side (Women’s Only) travelled to Montmorency to take on the section leaders. It was an epic struggle until Tuesday’s heat caused an early decision to postpone the match with 13 ends still to play and Doncaster ahead of Montmorency by one shot. When the game resumed on Wednesday, Doncaster fell behind but pulled off a great fight back  to level the scores and then go on to win in tie-back ends.

On Thursday March 10th Side 1 (Women’s Only) ventured to Lalor to meet Sunbury in the second final. Conditions were vastly different to the Tuesday experience; cold and drizzly. Despite fighting hard and winning one rink, our ladies were outplayed by a Sunbury team which performed better on the day.

Despite their loss in their final matches, both our Women’s Only pennant sides can be proud of their efforts this season.
